Disabled children and child poverty
One of EDCM's key objectives is to end child poverty for disabled children. EDCM is an active member of the Campaign to End Child Poverty.
Through the campaign EDCM has won:
* An increased grant for the Family Fund which allows them to make grants to disabled young people aged 16 and 17
* A significant financial victory for thousands of families with disabled children who will receive backdated disability tax credit
EDCM will continue to campaign for:
* Accessible and affordable childcare for families with disabled children
* The need for a major take-up campaign on Disability Living Allowance
* The need for a winter fuel allowance for families with disabled children.
* The government's welfare reform proposals to work for parents of disabled children
