Sign now for disability rights - EDCM backs petition
20 June 2007
EDCM is backing the One Million for Disability campaign, which aims to collect at least 1 million signatures to combat discrimination in all aspects of the lives of disabled people in Europe.
The campaign calls for 'a European Union in which disabled people’s rights are protected through effective legislation, combating all forms of discrimination and guaranteeing the full inclusion of 50 million citizens with disabilities in the European society'.
EDCM is asking all our supporters to sign up to the campaign at the One Million for Disability website here: www.1million4disability.eu/ before the 3 October 2007. On 4 October 2007, the signatures will be officially handed out to the European Commission and the European Parliament. At the same time, a gathering of disabled persons, their families, friends and allies will take place in Brussels, in the heart of the European Institutions area.
