If I could change one thing...

As you know over the summer EDCM asked disabled children and young people
“If you were Prime Minister for the day, and could change one thing, what would it be?”

We’ve had loads of great responses including posters, drawings and even a CD! Thanks so much everyone for all your hard work.

The answers have now been published in a booklet. We hope you like it!

We were really pleased when Newsround were interested in  'If I could change one thing...' See the news story here.

You can download a copy of the 'If I could change...' booklets, or contact us and we will send it to you.

We also made a DVD, with the help of some young people from Cambridgeshire and the Jigsaw4u group in Sutton, which you can watch here:

If you would like to use a copy of this DVD for events or training please contact Pamela Shaw on 020 7843 6318 or [email protected]

The top three things you told us you want to change were
- Having more/ better things to do
- More respect for disabled children
- Getting better support at school

There were so many fantastic things children and young people told us they wanted to change. You can read about some of them here

So what happens now?
The government have a new report called The Children's Plan. One of the main things in The Children's Plan was that the government will be spending £225 million on more and better playgrounds for children.

EDCM wants to hear from you about what more and better 'places to go and things to do' should look like. Please get involved by clicking here

If you would like any more information or have something else you want to share please let us know at [email protected]
