Tell us your story

We need you to help us tell the story of children and young people with SEN and disabilities who will challenge the new system or have traditionally struggled to get the support they need within the current system.

We want you to tell us about the difficulties you have experienced accessing social care and health support if you are:

•  A parent of a child identified as disabled between birth and 3 who struggled to get the support they needed

•  A parent of a child who needs health and social care support but doesn't have a statement of SEN

•  A parent of a child who has a statement of SEN and has struggled to get the health and social care aspects delivered

•  A young person over 18 who is not in full time education, employment or training but has health and social care needs

Contact your MP

EDCM will keep supporters updated on how they can join us in calling for improvements to the Bill to ensure that disabled children and their families receive the support they need to lead ordinary lives.

You can also contact your MP about the Bill and raise your concerns with them. Our EDCM supporter briefing includes our key messages to tell MPs on how to improve the Bill. You can find out who your MP is on the They Work For You website and email them through this site.

MPs usually have their own websites as well with their constituency office address. You can write to them or ask to see them during their weekly advice surgery to discuss any concerns you have with the changes being introduced. Details of when and where their advice surgery is held will be on their website.
