Short Break Service Statements

In April 2011 an historic duty came into force which required local authorities to ensure that there was short break provision in their local area. As part of this duty local authorities had to publish a 'Short Breaks Services Statement' on their website by 1st October 2011

This statement should include information on what local short break services are available, how the services are designed to meet the needs of carers in their area and details of any eligibility criteria the local authority applies to short breaks services.

EDCM and its supporters have been writing to the local authorities, requesting to see a copy of their short breaks service statements. We link below to the short breaks service statements that we have been directed to.
