Involving children and young people within the Interview process

Effective and meaningful participation is at the centre of all NCB's work. One of NCB's strategic aims is 'to ensure children and young people have a strong voice in all matters that affect their lives'. Every year we undertake a range of participation projects and one way we ensure that we appoint the right staff for this work is by involving young people in staff recruitment.

This DVD explains why is it right to involve young people in staff recruitment; sets out the role of NCB human resources unit in the process; and focusses on important issues such as encouraging all panel members to ask additional questions and interact with each other.

Developed by NCB staff, we hope it helps others learn, think about and put into practice involving young people in staff recruitment. It works for us, we hope it works for you.
