The green paper explains what the Government wants to change about education, health and social care support for disabled children and their families. Proposals included: * Replacing statements of special education needs with Education, Health and Care plan. These will last until the age of 25, incorporate learning difficulty assessments (S139as), set out commitments from health education and social care services on the support they will offer and offer the same legal protection as statements. * Offering all families of children and young people with an Education, Health and Social care plan the option of a personal budget to meet their needs * Exploring how disabled young people can be better supported into employment, including the extending access to supported internship * Exploring bringing together the funding streams for disabled learners' post 16 education and training provision Exploring improvements to adult health services including annual health checks for all disabled young people from age 16
