The top three things disabled children and young people said would make better play and leisure opportunities are: 1. Better attitudes from staff, adults and other young people "I don't want to feel like a nuisance or somebody different. I just want to do everything that everybody else does" 2. Better access to places, so that they can join in "I can't just say to my mum, 'I'm going out now' like a normal teenager. I have to say 'I'm going out on Saturday' so she can help me sort things out." 3. Better transport to get to places "It doesn't matter how good things are, if you can't get there in the first place, what's the point?" Lots of children and young people said: "You can find out what's best for us by involving us" Watch our Going Places! film to hear disabled young people answer the question "What would better places to go and things to do look like for you?"
